A  Community Resource for Supported Living

                           Community Placements and Support

There is a critical need for housing province-wide: especially safe, accessible and  affordable housing for adults with disabilities. The QCRS Inc. Residential Coordinator provides assistance for many adults with intellectual disabilities in accessing community resources and housing options. Individual and family involvement  is an essential part of determining housing options.

Housing options may include:

Supportive Assisted Living (Placement planning with an Associate Family)

Independent Living and apartment search

Respite Care

Group Home/Small Options housing  (wait list)

If interested in any housing options, please print and fill out the Intake Referral Form, or contact the QCRS Residential Co-ordinator, Megan Montgomery at 566-4470.

The  Residential Co-ordinator continues to monitor clients placed with Associate families through follow-up visits, outreach and support.  Monitoring is key to ensuring that concerns and questions are addressed in order to maintain a positive homelike  environment.

Associate Families:

An Associate Family is a  person(s) who help the lives of  individual(s) who have an intellectual disability by  providing a  warm, supportive  atmosphere, enhancing community  involvement  and inclusion.  Associate  Families agree to provide a nurturing, supportive, and safe environment for a person who has an intellectual disability.

Compensation to QCRS Associate Families is established through the PEI  Financial Assistance Program and  Disability Support Program according to client eligibility and rates.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an Associate Family, please click on the Associate Family Inquiry Form link up above, or contact  Megan Montgomery at  566-4470.
